Stimulating the Economy

Upon updating our personal and business records this morning I found we received our economic stimulus payment. Granted, it isn't the best idea given our country's present economic ills but we are not going to send the money back. Almost all of it will go into the savings account to pay for a newer work truck for George. So we will be stimulating the economy with it -- just a bit later than the government expects.

Speaking of stimulating the economy...

We seemed to be running low or even out of many household items. I keep a running tab on the side of the refrigerator itemizing what all we need to buy and periodically pick up items as they go on sale or in some cases when we run completely out and I'm tired of making due. Shopping is probably of my least favorite activities so unfortunately we run out of things I later regret not being stocked up on such as daytime cold medicine. George is still quite sick and unfortunately has to go out on two jobs today without his favorite daytime cold medicine.

First thing this morning I took that list and added any overlooked items and traipsed off to Walmart and CVS. I also stopped at Meijer, the gas station and bank. Whew, what a day of errands! Our house is finally stuffed to the brim with anything we might possibly need to use for the next 3 months with the exception of weekly groceries. I even picked up a snazzy blue and white striped apron for myself. The only thing I couldn't find were work pants for George. A quick call to the uniform shop later this week will take care of that.

Even though I've theoretically been feeling more like myself for the last few days -- I still feel like a good nap. After lunch I laid down for a half hour and now feel much more refreshed. It is amazing how much a cold can wear you out.

I'm off to pop some swiss steak into the oven for supper.

Take Care,

Trixie
